Reviews of Japanese Stitch Library Books

Stitch Pattern Book 500

Our review of one of the Japanese Stitch pattern books - unfortunately, we don't really know the title because it's in Kanji. Most English speakers refer to it as "500"
GooseRating - 9 happy honks if you like cable patterns, 6 happy honks if you're primarily a lace knitter.

Knitting Pattrens Book 250 - Hirose

There are TWO books that look very similar, both with the number 250 on it. This one is the one with purple text and was edited by M Hirose. This book actually contains approx 127 crochet patterns and approx 123 knitting patterns.

Note: The title of the book is in poor English...it should have been Knitting Patterns not Pattrens.

Goose Rating: 9 of 10 happy honks

JIS L 0201:1995 - Letter symbols for knitting stitch

Some people have found that the Japanese Standards Association has a PDF "booklet" on knitting stitches. We bought it and provide you a review of this booklet.

GooseRating:
For the general knitter=1 of 10 happy honks,
For people designing knitwear to be mass produced by machine overseas 8 of 10 happy honks

Knitting Patterns Book 300

This is a great book for people who like lace and cables. Lots of detailed patterns with texture and interest!

GooseRating: 9 of 10 happy honks
