GooseRating - 9 happy honks if you like cable patterns, 6 happy honks if you're primarily a lace knitter.

There are TWO books that look very similar, both with the number 250 on it. This one is the one with purple text and was edited by M Hirose. This book actually contains approx 127 crochet patterns and approx 123 knitting patterns.
Note: The title of the book is in poor English...it should have been Knitting Patterns not Pattrens.

Wow, what a refreshing article showing translations of not just knitting/crochet terms, but the names of the tools (ie crochet hook, knitting needles) and cute phrases so that you can participate in a knitting meeting (such as ""Oh my, I've dropped a stitch"" or ""Did you knit that yourself?"")
